jasmine deli

So on my way to the ACP meeting me and a friend decided to go to Jasmine deli for lunch. It is a Vietnamese place. For the first time I tried Banh-mi which I had intended to try for a long time. It is a Vietnamese sandwich which is made on  Vietnamese baguette. The baguette is made with rice and wheat flour. The sandwich was filled with pickled carrots and radish. It also had green chillies, cucumber and plenty of fresh cilantro. The bread had a slather of spicy mayonnaise which had some lemon, garlic, chilly oil and spices which added a certain kick to the sandwich. To wash down the sandwich I got a cup of green tea bubble tea. It is a kind of shake with green tea, shake powder, sugar, ice, and tapioca pearls. A wide straw is used to drink this tea so as to suck up the tapioca pearls. The place had a nice ambiance. The service was quick. The only thing to keep in mind while going here is that they only take cash. I had to go across the street to an ATM to get cassh and they were accommodating of that.

papa john's

So after a few weeks of working at the hospital for an un godly amount of hours and eating perhaps a meal a day, I decided it was time to get a pizza for dinner. As I pondered the choices I decided on Papa John's simply because I love their garlic sauce and they had a deal going on as well. They had a 10 dollar large with anything pizza offer. So I got a vegetarian pizza with a three cheese blend, pineapple and soda.
The pizza arrived on time and it was delicious. The cheese melted to perfection, vegetables fresh and abundant. The pineapple added a sweetness to the balance out the onions and peppers. I seasoned the pizza with salt, oregano and some crushed pepper. I had then cut the pizza into squares which made it all the more manageable. To finish off the pizza, I ate the crust like a breadstick dipping it in that oh so good garlic butter :) Finally I took a few bites out of the banana pepper to add a certain zing to the meal. I washed it down with some cold soda and this meal made up for all the meals missed during the week. Pizza....what a fulfilling, all -american meal !!!
